NIGHTWISH Donates 10,000 Euros To German Children's Charity

October 4, 2007

According to Nuclear Blast Records, a representative from the label handed over a check for 10,000 euros to the German child charity foundation Die Arche during NIGHTWISH's "secret" gig in Hamburg, Germany on September 28 (where the band performed as the NIGHTWISH tribute act SUSHI PATROL) . This amount represented proceeds collected from the European downloads of NIGHTWISH's Internet-only single "Eva".

Die Arche is a Christian organization which supports children and young adults who have no place to live and no food; they receive a place to live, food and education so that they can develop their talents and develop into self-reliant human beings.

The first date for NIGHTWISH's upcoming spring 2008 North American tour has been announced: May 22 at The Boardwalk in Orangevale, California. The band is also expected to perform at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 24. Additional dates will be announced in early November, including a very special show for Canadian fans.

Tickets for the Orangevale concert are now on sale though EnterTheVault.com.

As previously reported, NIGHTWISH's previously announced November 15, 2007 concert in Florida has been moved from House of Blues in Lake Buena Vista to Club Firestone in Orlando. Similarly, NIGHTWISH's November 6 concert at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California will now be taking place at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and EnterTheVault.com.

Fan-filmed video footage of NIGHTWISH's concert last Friday (September 28) at Delphi Showpalast in Hamburg, Germany can be viewed below.

Video footage from the Helsinki concert on September 26 can be found at this location.

NIGHTWISH will make its "official" live debut with new singer Anette Olzon on October 6 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The group's U.S. tour kicks off on October 15 in West Springfield, Virginia.
